Accessibility
Last updated October 20, 2026
Worship is for everyone. We want every person — including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or other assistive technology — to be able to find a hymn and sing it.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across the site, and we test new pages against them before they are published.
What we have done
- Text and controls meet WCAG AA colour-contrast levels on our dark background.
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link at the top.
- Pages use proper headings, landmarks and labels so screen readers can navigate them.
- Lyrics are real text, not images, marked with the correct language and direction (Urdu right-to-left, Roman left-to-right) so they can be read aloud, enlarged and searched.
- You can switch between Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi and Roman scripts, and resize lyrics on every hymn page.
- Pages work at any zoom level and screen size, from small phones to projectors.
- Animations are reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.
Known limitations
- Videos from YouTube and Vimeo, and the GuitarApp tools on our Guitar Tools pages, are provided by other companies. We choose them carefully, but we cannot change how accessible they are.
- Some older hymns do not yet have captions on their recordings, or have transliterations that a screen reader may pronounce imperfectly.
Tell us about a barrier
If anything on the site is hard to use — or you need a hymn in a different format — please tell us through our contact form. Let us know the page and what went wrong, and we will do our best to fix it or get you the content another way. We read every message and aim to reply within a week.
